South Coast Modellers
South West Model Show at the
Bovington Tank Museum Spring 2024
On 10th and 11th February we set up our largest ever display of models for the South West Model Show at the Tank Museum in Bovington. Our display was located at the entrance to the Main Tank Hall on six tables and contained warships, aircraft, D day diorama, spacecraft and cars. Our webmaster John Wills set up his 3D printing equipment and gave demonstrations of printing throughout both days.
The public attendance was high on both Saturday and Sunday and we were kept very busy talking to visitors and we received many positive comments on the quality and selection of models on display.
Members attending on both days were , John Wills, Tony Ansell, and David McNair-Taylor. On Saturday Alan Gamblin joined us and on Sunday Dave Reith, his son Richard and his son Leo brought their models.
The event also proved to be very successful for us with Tony Ansell winning a Gold for his large scale HMS Hood.
